The memorable part of a large AI hackathon is not the model call. It is the integration work around it: agreeing on a contract, moving data between parts, finding the fragile edge, and keeping the demo path alive while the product changes underneath it.
A good team makes that process visible. Everyone owns a surface, but the real work is at the seams where the system has to become coherent.
